To provide insights on how to characterise multi-wythe masonry infrastructure, a pilot study has been started at Delft University of Technology in 2022 with the characterisation of a bridge’s pillar built in 1882 in Amsterdam (Bridge 41). Samples were extracted in the portion of masonry above water level and different samples through the thickness direction of the masonry wall were collected.
