Frieda Hunziker: curaçao and the São Paulo Biennial ; Frieda Hunziker: curaçao e Bienal de São Paulo

This article addresses the work of Dutch painter Frieda Hunziker, more specifically the paintings she made in the 1950s. This text was elaborated based on documents present at the Nederlands Instituut voor Kunstgeschiedenis (RKD) and in the archives of the Stedelijk Museum Schiedam. In this museum, an exhibition about the artist was held from April to September 2023, called Vlucht naar Curaçao. The exhibition argues that a trip made by Hunziker to Curaçao, between 1952 and 1953, was fundamental to its production.
