The article considers transformation of the Egyptian foreign policy towards the Crusader States in the first years after mamluks’ coming to power. Due to different reasons the previous academic papersconsidered this policy to sufficient extent only after the beginning of the reign of al-Zahir Baybars (1260-1277) (this is primarily due to the specifics of the sources, as well as the low interest of theworld science to seemingly minor events that having a purely regional dimension).
