F. Holland Day: A Bibliography

This grant will allow me to complete a biography of F. Holland Day (1864-1933). A bibliophile, publisher, and photographer, Day founded a publishing firm often compared to William Morris’s Kelmscott Press, his photographic portraits remain striking today, and his influence as a promoter of photography as a fine art rivaled that of Alfred Stieglitz. Experts consider Day to be one of the most important photographic artists in history, one who remains influential in current photographic circles.
