Since the early 2000s, an increasing number of teenage novels represents homosexuality and makes the homosexual hero a fictional character. Should we conclude that mentalities are progressing by making sexual diversity a theme in children's literature or, on the contrary, that these representations actually perpetuate a stereotyped image of male homosexuality? Our study focuses on the representation of homosexuality, particularly through the homosexual male character, in contemporary French-language novels for adolescents. It approaches the topic in its social and geographical context. The spatial limits have been set in three countries representative of the French-speaking world: France, Belgium and Quebec. The French-language novel for teenagers anchors fiction in aesthetic and cultural norms that invite the reader to reflect on homosexuality. It is through recurring themes that these works manifest the contemporary concerns of a homosexual character, an adolescent in most cases. So how do the authors tackle this topic? And how can these novels fall into the hands of French-speaking adolescents? Our study deals with these questions and addresses one central issue: what representations of male homosexuality and of the male homosexual character do these French-language novels offer to the adolescent reader? ; Depuis le début des années 2000, un nombre de plus en plus important de romans pour adolescents représente l'homosexualité et font du héros homosexuel un personnage de fiction. Faut-il en conclure que les mentalités progressent en faisant de la diversité sexuelle une thématique de la littérature de jeunesse ou au contraire que ces représentations évoquées perpétuent en réalité une image stéréotypée de l'homosexualité masculine ?
