Pay deals nudge down to 3% - Pay awards have dipped for the second month in succession. Latest figures form the IRS databank show that our headline measure of whole-economy pay reviews (the median) nudged down 0.1 percentage point to sit at 3% in the three months ending May 2001. But does rising inflation, accelerating earnings growth and a failing exchange rate signal trouble ahead?
