Dial-up HR at Scottish & Newcastle - Complementing our e-HR survey, we present a case study of how one major employer has harnessed new technology in the innovative delivery of basic HR advice to its workforce. Scottish & Newcastle now provides its 42,000 employees with direct telephone and e-mail access to HR services. Feedback to date indicates that the firm's HR service centre has been well received by employees. As an added bonus, the centre has helped relieve regional HR teams of some routine tasks, which means they are spending more time concentrating on business and strategic issues.
