Sex discrimination - R v Secretaiy of State for Employment, ex parte Seymour-Smith and another (No. 2) - The House of Lords holds, by a majority, that the extension in 1985 of the unfair dismissal qualifying period from one year to two years indirectly discriminated against women, for the purposes of Article 141 EC, in 1991, but was objectively justified.
