Objective: To investigate the use of plant extracts from plants present in the Brazilian savanna as an alternative in the control of the cattle tick Rhipicephalus microplus. Methods: The study was conducted based on criteria of the PRISMA method, with the descriptors: "plant extracts and Rhipicephalus microplus", "acaricidal activity and plant extracts", "Rhipicephalus microplus and Brazilian savanna ", "acaricide activity" and "plant extracts" and "Rhipicephalus microplus" and "plant extracts", selecting articles between 2013 and 2023. Results: A total of 19 studies were selected to investigate the potential of Brazilian savanna plants against R. microplus. Of these, 18 showed the efficacy of these plants in the mortality of larvae and females of the tick. They indicated 57 species of Cerrado plants, belonging to 31 different botanical families, with Lauraceae being the most studied (14%). Most studies have also reported a high mortality in ticks, even with variations in extraction solvents, with ethanol being the most frequent (60.5%), mainly for extracting leaves (60.5%). The studies also prioritized evaluation in engorged females (93.5%) and, to a lesser extent, in larvae (44%). Conclusion: Studies on Brazilian savanba plants in the control of R. microplus are limited, but the positive results suggest potential for control strategies. However, the lack of studies on bioactive compounds and their action on ticks indicates the need for more research to better understand the role of these plants in the control of this ectoparasite and the importance of these plants in the conservation of this biome. ; Objetivo: Investigar el uso de extractos vegetales de plantas presentes en la sabana brasileña como alternativa en el control de la garrapata del ganado Rhipicephalus microplus.
