Netherlands: Northeast Polder

Northeast Polder, a municipality in the Netherlands, is largely made of reclaimed land from Zuiderzee Works, which turned Zuiderzee into a freshwater lake, IJsselmeer, and lowered the water levels allowing for land to be reclaimed. This photograph shows farm land in Northeast Polder which is irrigated by dikes from IJsselmeer. ; https://digitalcommons.ric.edu/smolski_images/1912/thumbnail.jpg
