Stanley A. Rock : an appreciation
Stanley A. Rock completed his B.A. and M.A. degrees at the University of Michigan. Stan had no prior connection to the Reformed Church in America but was recruited by Harold Englund, newly appointed president of Western Seminary, to enroll as a student. Stan received the M.Div. degree from Western Seminary in 1966. Stanley A. Rock completed his B.A. and M.A. degrees at the University of Michigan. Stan had no prior connection to the Reformed Church in America but was recruited by Harold Englund, newly appointed president of Western Seminary, to enroll as a student. Stan received the M.Div. degree from Western Seminary in 1966. After graduation, and prior to his appointment to Western Seminary's faculty, he worked as a campus staff member and later as assistant director for Inter-Varsity Christian Fellowship in New England. Following a year and a half of service assistant secretary for translations of the American Bible Society, he served pastorates at the Reformed Church in Blawenburg, New Jersey, and the Collegiate Church (RCA) related to Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa. He received the Ed.D degree from Drake University in 1975 and joined Western's faculty in 1976.
