The purpose of this research is to comprehend the information-seeking behavior regarding Dutch-language sources on Islamic history for students or novice researchers and to understand the process of utilizing Dutch-language historical sources and their contributions to article writing or final assignments. Understanding this information-seeking behavior will facilitate students or novice researchers in finding information for their scholarly work. The method employed in this research is qualitative, utilizing a case study approach. The main steps in the research method are divided into several stages. Firstly, the selection of informants is planned to interview 10 students from the History of Islamic Civilization program. The selection of research informants is conducted through purposive sampling with criteria set for selecting informants who have used Dutch-language digital historical sources in their writing or historical research. Informants will be chosen based on considerations of background variation, experiences, the type of research they undertake, and the output they have produced. Priority will be given to informants who have successfully published scholarly articles on historical research using Dutch-language primary sources. Through a qualitative approach and in-depth analysis of interview data, this research aims to provide a better understanding of how history students use Dutch-language digital historical sources in their research and how their information-seeking behavior evolves during this process. The results of this research are expected to contribute to understanding the use of digital historical sources in the context of higher education and historical studies.
