This paper deals with different issues related to the preposition endéans [within], such as its origin, geographical distribution, meaning, use and morphosyntactic features. Endéans is traditionally described by two qualifying adjectives: "Belgian" and "temporal". Nevertheless, its usage exceeds the territory of Francophone Belgium and, rarely, the domain of time as well, particularly in the past. Two questionnaire researches focused on this matter were conducted among native speakers.
