As part of an interdisciplinary research team investigating the colonial past in relationship to contemporary Belgium at the Université Libre de Bruxelles, the selected doctoral student will participate in the line of research focused on the spatialization of postcolonial controversies and the material traces of the colonial past in Belgium, with particular attention to the ways in which postcolonial perspectives (from previous colonizers and colonized alike) structure the affective experience and sensorial materiality of public spaces.
