Cette étude distingue d'abord une critique "esthète" et, ensuite, une critique dominée par des critères moraux et politiques, d'inspiration tiers-mondiste et culturaliste. Enfin, elle propose une troisième lecture, à partir d'une figure mariale et du rituel qu'on peut lire dans l'épilogue. ; Studio della ricezione, da parte della stampa e della critica, del romanzo di François Emmanuel: Jours de tremblement (2011), la cui azione si svolge su un fiume dell'Africa occidentale e presenta ostaggi, soprattutto europei, prigionieri di un movimento ribelle. Questo studio distingue in primo luogo una critica "esteta" e, in secondo luogo, una critica dominata da criteri morali e politici, di ispirazione terzomondana e culturalista. Infine, propone una terza lettura, partendo da una figura mariana e dal rituale che si può leggere nell'epilogo.
