This paper presents a comparative study between Ernesto Sábato and José Saramago on the notion of blindness. Text ethnography was carried out with two literary works, of the fictional genre, that approach the problematic of the lack of an organ of perception, its effects on the body and the social environment, beyond a descriptive approach proposed an interpretive analysis, for which Le Breton will be used, who from his anthropology of the body will provide the theoretical bases on the understanding of the eyes as the organs of distancing.
