The objective of developing activities to minimize environmental contamination caused by solid waste through a pedagogical strategy with primary grade students of an Educational Institution in the municipality of Tumaco, Nariño. The methodology has a qualitative approach, with a descriptive scope. The study technique is the survey; The sample is made up of both students and parents. Among the main findings with the application of the information collection instrument (questionnaire) related to the knowledge and categories established for the participants; You have to not recognize the differences between organic and inorganic waste, likewise, the correct disposal of waste as recycling elements. Likewise, in the cultural sphere, both parents and students affirm that they have rarely participated in spaces inside and outside the institution related to the correct management of solid waste and especially inorganic solid waste; Based on this result, a pedagogical process of four important moments is developed.
