International audience ; The discovery of South Arabian inscriptions on the Somali coast sheds new light on several aspects of the relationship between South Arabia and the Horn of Africa, showing that after at least a century on the Ethiopian Tigray plateau, the Sabeans embarked on a policy of coastal exploration, settling for a time on the northern Somali coast in search of a more diversified supply network of marketable goods.
