In this sense, subject of this research is the simplification of Sabahattin Ali's story "Hasan Boğuldu" within the framework of cohesion and coherence, which are textlinguistic criteria, within the framework of the European Common Paper for A2 level students learning Turkish as a foreign language. The study aims to contribute to simplification of literary work and the need of text for Teaching Turkish as a Foreign Language. In the study, the experimental design model with the post-test control group, which is one of the quantitative research designs, was used. The application of the study was implemented in two classrooms at A2 level in a language center in Istanbul with 32 students. The simplified text in one class and the original text in the other class were read and the differences between the two classes were determined. Students were first asked to fill in the first part of the application consisting of demographic questions. With these questions, it was aimed to determine the student profile and whether there is a relationship between profiles and text comprehension studies. Before the text is read, a brief information about the text was given, and it was requested to answer the preparatory questions consisting of matching the visuals of the text with the words. In the last part, the application was completed by reading the text and asking the text questions to be answered. The application measures whether the simplification is successful or not, and its effect on students' reading comprehension skills.
