Aim: To obtain insight into the the use and costs of clean intermittent catheterization (CIC) in the Netherlands from 1997 to 2018. Methods: For this population-based study, data on the use and costs of disposable catheters were provided by the Drug Information Project database. This database contains information about the Dutch insured population, which increased from 9.9 to 17.1 million persons between 1997 and 2018 (64%–100% of the Dutch population).
