This master thesis devotes itself to marital politics and strategies, but also to the marital everyday life of the Baroque aristocracy, using the example of Franz Joseph Czernin and Isabelle Marie de Mérode-Westerloo. The thesis draws mainly on archival sources stored in the archive of the Czernin family, most of it is marital correspondence of Franz Joseph Czernin and Isabelle Marie de Mérode-Westerloo and other literature which is presented at the beginning of this thesis.
