At one point, Dad and a colleague lost their way, and Mum hid them for 3-4 days. Mum tried to guide them to the British lines. At the end of the war, Mum was in a DP camp, and Dad was delivering supplies. He went to the camp and was told he needed to see an interpreter, realizing it was the same lady who had helped him. They got married in Germany as my Mum did not have the papers to come to England. After they met and married, they returned to my paternal grandparent's house. Mum started at Cologne and finished at the DP Camp.
