Abstract Background Diet, alcohol, cigarette smoking, physical inactivity, and body mass index have been studied as risk factors for renal cell cancer (RCC). The joint effects of these lifestyle factors, captured as Healthy Lifestyle Index (HLI), were examined in one previous study.
