This thesis describes for the first time the theological reception of Comrie’s doctrine of justification in the reformed tradition in the Netherlands at the end of the nineteenth and during the twentieth century. It turns out that Comrie has mainly influenced reformed orthodoxy and experimental reformed circles, both in the Nederlandse Hervormde Kerk and in churches of the Afscheiding.
