In 1954, initiated by the Dutch government and in cooperation with the main literary organizations in Netherlands, the ‘Foundation for the Promotion of the Translation of Dutch Literary Works’ (‘Stichting ter bevordering van de vertaling van Nederlands literair werk) was founded.
