The object of the current Thematic Issue is not to focus on the individuals (the cross-border commuters) but on the organization of the cross-border labor markets. We move from a micro perspective to a macro perspective in order to underline the diversity of the cross-border labor markets (at the French borders, for example) and shed light on the many aspects that impact cross-border supply or demand. Trying to understand the whole system that goes beyond the cross-border flows, the question we address in this thematic issue is about the organization of the labor markets: is the system organized in a cross-border way? Or do the borders still prevent a genuinely integrated cross-border labor market? ... : L’objet du présent Cahier thématique n’est pas de se concentrer sur les individus (les travailleurs frontaliers) mais sur l’organisation des marchés du travail transfrontaliers. Le passage d’une perspective micro à une perspective macro permet de souligner la diversité des marchés du travail transfrontaliers (aux frontières françaises par exemple) et de mettre en lumière les nombreux éléments qui ont un effet sur l’offre et la demande. En tentant de comprendre le système complet qui se cache derrière les flux transfrontaliers, la question que nous abordons dans ce cahier thématique concerne l’organisation des marchés du travail transfrontaliers : le système est-il organisé de manière réellement transfrontalière ? ou bien est ce que les frontières empêchent un marché du travail transfrontalier véritablement intégré ? ...
