Andronymus Holland 1896
Andronymus Holland, 1896 This is a genus of about ten species, restricted to the Afrotropical Region. Since the treatment in Evans (1937), Usher (1980) revised the five species of what he called the A. caesar complex of species, Larsen (2005) indicated additional adjustments, and new species have since been described (Congdon & Collins 1998, Larsen & Congdon 2012). Vuattoux (1999) lists a single food plant record of ‘ Andronymus sp. hero / caesar ’ reared from a caterpillar reared on Cynometra megalophylla (Fabaceae). Andronymus Holland, 1896 This is a genus of about ten species, restricted to the Afrotropical Region. Vuattoux (1999) lists a single food plant record of ‘ Andronymus sp. hero / caesar ’ reared from a caterpillar reared on Cynometra megalophylla (Fabaceae). The status of the reared adult was uncertain because it was a crumpled female, having failed to emerge and expand its wings properly, but it belonged in the group including A. hero and A. caesar , and most likely was one of these two species. ; Published as part of Cock, Matthew J.
