Man Reading (Saint Ivo?)

The painting, was perhaps the left-hand part of a small devotional painting. It once bore a later inscription identifying the subject as Saint Ivo (1253 - 1303), the patron saint of lawyers and advocate of the poor. The saint was most popular in his native Brittany. The paper held by the sitter resembles a legal document, which would be appropriate for Saint Ivo, or it may be a portrait, perhaps of a lawyer.
