How international is co-authorship outside of Web of Science? The case of social sciences and humanities in Flanders, Belgium
This paper studies the question to what extent international research collaboration in the social sciences and humanities takes place in publications that are not indexed in Web of Science (WoS). We compare the internationality of co-authors of Flemish SSH publications in WoS (BOF-WoS) to those not indexed in WoS (BOF-VABB). While publications with 2+ authors in BOF-WoS are overall more international than those in BOF-VABB (60.0% versus 48.1%), the difference is smaller than expected and varies across disciplines and publication types.
