Jacob (Jake) Mulder, a Sioux County native, served as a private in the 349th Infantry during World War I. The collection features Mulder’s correspondence with his family during his military service. Many of the letters written in Dutch were transcribed by the family. This collection was originally donated to Dutch American Heritage Museum by the Bill Mulder family of Orange City, October 2021.
