Linear Regression Models for the Natural Radioactivity (238U, 232Th and 40K) in Dutch Soils: A Key to Anomalies
Twenty-three sample locations were selected for an inventory of 238U, 232Th and 40K in Dutch soils. The levels found fall within the typical ranges for soils reported by UNSCEAR in 1982. Linear regression models were formulated and tested. Models based on the weight percentages of grain size fractions, not necessarily combined with soil parent material, predicted the activity concentrations in independently measured soil samples with reasonable precision.
