Abstract Background Missed fractures in the emergency department (ED) are common and may lead to patient morbidity. Aim To determine the rate and nature of radiographic discrepancies between ED treating physicians, radiologists and trauma/orthopaedic surgeons and the clinical consequences of delayed diagnosis.
