In our presentation we present the process of training a model to analyze emotion in Middle Dutch literature. We want this model for many different purposes within the realm of distant reading, for instance: discovering patterns within different genres, periods or places. There is also the concept of story arcs (originally invented by Kurt Vonnegut) which we might be able to proof for Middle Dutch using a language model.
