Pte Horwell in Belgium
Pte Horwell was called up in March 1942, aged 37. His record of service shows he was with the West Yorks for four months then transferred to the Lancashire Fusilliers for 10 months. He joined the Corps of Military Police, perhaps unsurprising given his age, from May 1943 to May 1946. He was with 73 Coy CMP when the photograph was taken, I think, in Belgium. I have a company photograph of him in front of the Brabo fountain in Antwerp and know he ended his time overseas in Hannover in 1946 but have not otherwise been able to fill in a timeline for his movements/locations.
