Fine wines in Belgium? Grapevine hydraulics: from plant to field.

Belowground hydraulic resistance limits the transpiration of grapevine in soil water-limited conditions, particularly in a sandy soil for which a small decrease of soil water potential leads to a large increase of soil hydraulic resistance. High-spatial-resolution multispectral imagery highlights the major role of the soil type and depth on the hydraulic variability of a vineyard.
