Belsian economic structures have undersone two main phases of chanse from the end of the Second World War. Durins the Sixties and the beginnins of the Seventies, the manufacturins structures were deeply renewed, largely due to new foreign investments. From 1974, a process of tertiarization is strongly on the way. During those two phases, the Flemish Region registered the best rates of growth. Growth is weaker in Wallonia, mainly in the old industrial districts, but also in the central parts of the main metropolitan regions, includins Brussels-Capital Region.
