Acquiring intensifying constructions: A case study of learning foreign languages in Belgium
This invited talk consists of two parts. The first part presents the linguistic situation in Belgium and the context of learning foreign languages in French-speaking Belgium, through traditional foreign language education and through Content and Language Integrated Learning (CLIL). The second part presents a case study on the acquisition of intensifying constructions (cf. Hendrikx 2019) with three studies investigating the role of cross-linguistic differences and the impact of CLIL.
