The precise location of banks considered favourable for kingfisher nesting are rare: six for nesting in 1999. In addition, the location of former banks that have been rendered unsuitable was accompanied by a brief summary of their condition and recommendations for their conservation or restoration. The two main problems are, on the one hand, trampling by livestock and, on the other hand, interventions to stabilise the banks by adding various materials at the foot of the bank or by more elaborate arrangements.
