International audience ; Though out of context, two perforated ‘hammer-axes’ made of hard stone were discovered in the part of the Calestienne between Couvin and Givet. Uncovered in 1900 but still unpublished, Chooz’s copy belongs to the ‘Muntendam group’, more specifically to the Mu2 type as defined by Achterop S. A. and Brongers J. A. in 1979. To the initial suggestion of a battle-axe from the ‘Standvoetbekerkultuur’, we prefer a more recent production, dating to the Iron Age.
