International audience ; The excavations carried on the archaeological site at Liberchies (Belgium) have revealed the presence of a late temple built towards the end of the 3 rd c. in this road town in ruins. Crossed by the Roman road Bavay-Tongeren-Koln, this agglomeration belongs to the Germania Secunda . In the 4 th c., the town of Tongeren, keeping its status of caput civitatis , may yet have a well-established Christian community. However, during Late Antiquity, and until the first decades of the 5 th c., the civitas territory under the control of the army will see a revival of pagan cult sites notwithstanding the measures taken against paganism.
