Euphorbia amygdaloides subsp. robbiae (Turkish wood spurge) in the nature reserve De Buylaers (Lokeren, East Flanders, Belgium). Since at least 2014, a population of Euphorbia amygdaloides subsp. robbiae has persisted in a nature reserve dominated by moist to wet grasslands in Lokeren (Belgium). This taxon occurs along an elevated path shaded by Corylus avellana. It is presumably thanks to its characteristic rhizomes that this taxon could survive a recent disturbance and it is likely that it will expand its area in the future. Given the geographic origin of this taxon, the author suggests the Dutch vernacular name ‘Turkse amandelwolfsmelk’ (by analogy with its English vernacular name: ‘Turkish Wood Spurge'). ...
