La nationalité belge en 2014 - l'équilibre enfin trouvé? ; Belgian nationality law in 2014 - a balanced regime?

This paper offers a critical overview of the law of Belgian nationality as it stands in 2014, focusing in particular on the many changes brought about by the Act of 4 December 2012. In a first chapter, the paper outlines the main changes which were adopted in 2012. In a second chapter, the paper attempts to offer a critical analysis of these changes, using various angles such as the imperative of coherence, the principle of legal certainty or the position of international developments in the reform. Some attention is also paid to the comparative aspects of nationality law.
