The following study sets its aim to present the emergence and development of the Walloon towns of Francavilla and Eng in the Srem region, which belonged to Hungary from the beginning of the 11th century. The Walloon population apparently settled in the region after 1018. Based on an analysis of the sources, it is possible to assume that it happened in connection with the poor economic situation in Wallonia.
