The presence of the sea cucumber Synaptula hydriformis (Lesueur, 1824) is documented. This is the first record for the species in Santa María key, Sabana-Camagüey archipelago. This record extends the distribution of this species in Cuba, documented in the available scientific literature to date. The presence of this species in several localities of the Caribbean region suggests a wider distribution in the island.
