Foreword. It is our great pleasure to welcome you to ACM Hypertext 2011, the 22nd ACM Conference on Hypertext and Hypermedia, and to the "Land of the Innovator", the campus of the Eindhoven University of Technology, located in the "city of light" Eindhoven, the Netherlands. Hypertext is an exciting conference because it brings together researchers and practitioners with a wide range of technical and non-technical interests in the subject of hypertext, as illustrated by the four tracks we have in 2011: •Dynamic and Computed Hypermedia, chaired by Peter Brusilovsky and David Millard; •Emerging Structures and Ubiquitous Hypermedia, chaired by Niels Olof Bouvin and Frank Shipman; •Social Media (Linking People and Things), chaired by Andreas Hotho, Gerd Stumme and Markus Strohmaier; •Interaction, Narrative, and Storytelling, chaired by Mark Bernstein and Frank Nack. Three keynote speakers represent the breadth, depth and maturity of this conference: Marti Hearst, Wendy Hall and Noshir Contractor. Prof. Dr. Marti Hearst is professor at the University of California in Berkeley and performs research on improving (designing, developing and evaluating) systems for information access. Prof. Dr. Dame Wendy Hall, professor at the University of Southampton and former president of ACM, was one of the first computer scientists to study multimedia and hypermedia and has been at the forefront of the hypertext research community throughout her career. She is also one of the initiators of Web Science as a new research field. Prof. Dr. Noshir Contractor investigates factors that lead to the formation, maintenance and dissolution of dynamically linked social and knowledge networks. The Program Committee and the reviewers worked hard to select an excellent program from 104 paper submissions. We accepted 31 full papers and 4 short papers. Each paper was reviewed by three PC members. The program chair together with the track chairs Peter Brusilovsky, David Millard, Niels Olof Bouvin, Frank Shipman, Andreas Hotho, Gerd Stumme, Markus ...
