The present paper stands as a contribution to everyday life studies and discusses the problem of envoys visiting royal and princely courts in the later Middle Ages. The study is based on the analysis of the municipal accounts kept by the Moravian royal town of Znojmo (Znaim) in 1421 and 1422. In these years the town was at first under the control of king Sigismund, and then it was pawned to duke Albert of Austria.
