The Dutch Caribbean--a new episode for offshore investments
The 10 October 2010 marks the date on which the Netherlands Antilles ceased to exist. Two new countries were born, Curaçao and Sint Maarten. The three remaining islands, the BES islands, have become part of the Netherlands. The article discusses the new BES islands tax regime which is characterized by simplicity and a shift from direct to indirect taxes.
