"The Butcher Shop," painting attributed to Pieter de Bloot

Photograph from a series made for insurance or appraisal purposes (1960 Lane Brothers Assignment Book, page 67). There are four series made for Mr. and Mrs. Arnold S. Kaye of their art collection, this series of eight photos of seven paintings was made on March 14, 1960 at the Kayes' house (801 Douglas Road, N.W. -- house and road now destroyed) by Dan Lane. On June 3, 1962, the Kayes died in the Orly Field (Paris, France) plane crash. The painting is currently owned by the Kayes' son, Arnold S.
