This article aims at introducing, defining and questioning the notion of “technography” developed through Charles Dekeukeleire’s writings. It refers to the Belgian filmmaker’s industrial works, produced from the 1930s and 1940s onwards. The analysis of his theoretical texts and filmic forms allows one to understand that “technography” goes beyond its original meaning so as to integrate the more conceptual field of film theory.
