The present paper shows an estimation of the abundance for commercial sponges in areas respective to south west (Golfo de Batabanó) and north-center (Archipiélago Sabana-Camagüey) shelf’s of Cuba. All areas were assessed with 200m 2 transepts stratified and randomized for determinate the number of individuals by species. There are three species presents in each area. The most abundant was Spongia obscura, followed by Spongia barbara and with lesser abundance, Hippospongia lachne.
